How to Convert Video to Audio
- Upload your video — drag and drop an MP4, MOV, MKV, WebM, or AVI file onto the tool. Files up to 500 MB are supported.
- Choose your output format — select MP3 for maximum compatibility, WAV for lossless quality, or AAC for Apple devices. MP3 at 192 kbps is a good default for most uses.
- Set the bitrate — higher bitrate means better audio quality but larger file size. 128 kbps is good for voice; 192–320 kbps is recommended for music.

Is the audio quality as good as the original?
The quality of the extracted audio depends on the quality of the audio track in the original video. If the video was recorded with high-quality audio, the extracted MP3 or AAC will also be high quality. Extracting to WAV gives you the exact audio data with no additional compression. Extracting to MP3 or AAC adds one round of lossy encoding.
Is my video stored on your servers?
Your video is uploaded temporarily for server-side processing using FFmpeg. It is permanently and automatically deleted from our servers immediately after you download the converted audio. We do not store, view, or share your video files.
Can I extract audio from YouTube videos?
This tool works with files you upload from your own device. It does not accept YouTube URLs. To use it with YouTube content, you would need to have downloaded the video file first. Please only convert videos you have the right to use.
What is the maximum video file size?
The maximum supported file size is 500 MB. This covers the vast majority of short video clips and recordings. For longer videos, consider trimming them first or splitting into segments.
