Word Counter — Count Words, Characters & More

EazyStudio's word counter gives you instant, live statistics as you type or paste text. No page reloads, no sign-up, and nothing sent to a server — all processing happens directly in your browser.

What Gets Counted

Words — every sequence of characters separated by whitespace. Characters — the total length of the text including spaces and punctuation. Characters (no spaces) — useful for social media limits that count non-space characters. Sentences — text blocks ending with a period, exclamation mark or question mark. Paragraphs — lines of text separated by a blank line.

Reading Time & Speaking Time

Reading time is estimated at 238 words per minute — the widely-cited average for silent reading of digital text. Speaking time uses 130 wpm, the typical pace for a clear public presentation. Both estimates update live as you type.

Keyword Density for SEO

The top keywords panel shows the 10 most frequent meaningful words in your text alongside their density percentage. For SEO content, aim for a primary keyword density of 1–3%. Avoid keyword stuffing — Google penalises unnatural repetition.

Frequently Asked Questions

How is reading time calculated?
Reading time is based on an average adult reading speed of 238 words per minute for digital text. Divide your word count by 238 to get minutes. For a 1,000-word article that is roughly 4 minutes and 12 seconds.
Does the word counter support multiple languages?
Yes — the counter works on any language that uses spaces between words (English, French, Spanish, Hindi in Latin script, etc.). For languages without spaces such as Chinese or Japanese, the character count is still accurate but the word count will not be meaningful.
Is there a word limit?
There is no hard limit. The counter handles very long documents (100,000+ words) without any performance issues because all processing is done in-browser with no server round-trips.
What words are excluded from keyword density?
Common stop words like "the", "a", "is", "in", "and", "of", "to", "for", "on", "with" and similar function words are excluded so the keyword list shows only meaningful content words.
